"For this role I wanted to make a transition from being a boy to a man ultimately. Having played the cowardly brother in a movie 'Troy' this was an opportunity to make a transition into the man and hero that Balian is. To prepare for this movie, I had a regime of lifting weight; good food, a lot of good food, and I tried to keep myself healthy. You see I have a bad back so it gave me the much-needed energy for the shooting schedule. I think that ultimately, the physicality of the character determines the physicality of the actor. For this role, I thought that Balian needs to be larger and I needed to build up for the character," Orlando said, telling the audience what he did to prepare for the role of Balian.
