Emily has been named as the 2004-2005 editor-in-chief of The Daily Campus newspaper at SMU, which would seem to be at or near the top of the undergraduate journalism pyramid.

Very sweet television show on tonight.

It is The Winning Season on TNT. It is adapted from Dan Gutman's baseball card book, Honus and Me. I thought the show was very good hearted. I like Matthew Modine. His portrayal of baseball straight arrow, Honus Wagner was good natured and very enjoyable.

Dan Gutman has written a series of Baseball Card mysteries (and others) based on sports greats like, Jackie Robinson, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle. Boys and girls love his books. Gutman always puts a neat twist in his books that take them a step above mere fantasy. There is usually an ethical dilemma that the hero must confront, one that most kids can identify with. What would you do if you found the most valuable baseball card in the world?

The show is fun and worth your time when TNT repeats it. I hope they paid Gutman well. He deserves it.
